Thanks Barack… US Growth Rate Likely to Fall Below 1% in 2nd Half of 2010

Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression. The Obama-Pelosi economic plan resulted in a cumulative 7.5 million jobs deficit. By every objective measure the democrat’s Trillion dollar stimulus bomb was a complete disaster.

Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi tripled the national deficit last year by nearly a trillion dollars – something unheard of in our nation’s history.

After an unheard of record deficit last year of $1.4 Trillion the economy is on track to experience a $1.3 Trillion deficit this year.

Instead of focusing on the economy the past two years the radicals in Washington beat up on business and rammed through an unpopular nationalized health care entitlement program.

Now there’s this…
Top economist Nouriel Roubini told colleagues this weekend that the US growth rate will likely fall below 1% the second half of this year.
The Telegraph reported:

“The US has run out of bullets,” said Nouriel Roubini, professor at New York University, and one of a caste of luminaries with grim forecasts at the annual Ambrosetti conference on Lake Como.

“More quantitative easing (bond purchases) by the Federal Reserve is not going to make any difference. Treasury yields are already down to 2.5pc yet credit spreads are widening again. Monetary policy can boost liquidity but it can’t deal with solvency problems,” he told Europe’s policy elite.

Dr Roubini said the US growth rate was likely to fall below 1pc in the second half of the year, despite the biggest stimulus in history: a cut in interest rates from 5pc to zero, a budget deficit of 10pc of GDP, and $3 trillion to shore up the financial system.

The anaemic pace compares with rates of 4pc-6pc at this stage of recovery in normal post-war recoveries.

“We have reached stall speed. Any shock at this point can tip you back into recession. With interbank spreads rising, you can get a vicious circle like 2008-2009,” he said, describing a self-feeding process as the real economy and the credit system hurt each other.

Code Pinko Crybaby Laments Obama’s Poll Dive

Code Pink's Medea Benjamin laments Obama's dive in popularity and her anti-war group's loss of influence.

Via Politico: Anti War Groups Battle For Survival

As President Barack Obama formally declared an end to combat operations in Iraq this week, the anti-war movement that helped sweep him into office — and that worked for seven years to bring U.S. troops home — finds itself struggling for survival.

Several factors — war fatigue; a deep, lingering recession; and the presence of a Democratic president they helped elect — have drained the energy from organizations that led the fight against the Iraq war. Some of the most influential anti-war activist groups that once summoned half a million people to march against the Iraq war and the policies of former President George W. Bush are straining to raise the money and attention to fight what they see as Obama’s military entrenchment in Afghanistan.

“We don’t have a very vibrant anti-war movement anymore,” lamented Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Codepink, one of the anti-war movement’s most visible organizations. “The issues have not changed very much. … Now we have a surge [in Afghanistan] that we would have been furious about under George Bush, yet it’s hard to mobilize people under Obama. We have the same anti -war movement and not the same passion.”
[...]

Liberals demanding an immediate withdrawal from Iraq after the 2003 invasion were largely ignored by the Bush administration, but their influence with Democrats and independent voters grew between 2004 and 2008, the height of the war — and the time of Obama’s emergence as a presidential contender.  By 2008, the anti-war sentiment had fueled a surge in voter registration, while anti-war activists openly embraced Obama, whose early momentum was based largely on opposition to Iraq.

As Obama catapulted to the front of a crowded field of Democratic presidential candidates, his criticism of the Iraq war motivated thousands of volunteers to hit the streets for him. In turn, Democrats and war-weary independent voters surged to the polls, pushing Obama, as well as down-ticket Democrats, into office.

Now, that energy has all but vanished, leaving Obama and embattled congressional Democrats with one less ally when they need all the help they can get.

[...]

After fighting the Bush administration for the better part of a decade, the anti-war movement can barely draw public attention to Afghanistan because of kitchen table issues like the worsening economy, the increasingly unpopular health care overhaul and high unemployment. Meanwhile, the leaders have kept their grumbling about Afghanistan mostly to themselves, to keep Obama’s sagging poll numbers from sinking further or jeopardizing the Democratic majority in Congress.

“A lot of the people who were part of this movement have retreated,” Codepink’s Benjamin said. “They wanted to give up on the timetable [for withdrawing from Iraq]. Some are still reluctant to criticize a Democratic president now with the midterms coming up.”

The staggering economy has hit the movement hard: Just a few years ago, some groups raised millions of dollars in donations and mobilized legions of supporters to rallies in Washington and New York; now, United For Peace and Justice (UFPJ) — which had a full-time, paid staff and a budget of more than  $1 million — relies on volunteers working without a headquarters and with less than $100,000 to spend.

As Jammie Wearing Fool points out:

What’s a Castro-loving psychopath to do when things go bad for her guy?

…Well, now their battlefield has shifted. Rather than supporting America’s enemies, their primary mission is propping up the people they helped elect.

…So it was never about the troops and all about politics.  Thanks for clearing that up, Medea.

However, Cindy Sheehan, the anti-war activist whose son died in Iraq, has no illusions.  She abandoned hope long ago that the activists would fight as hard once Obama was elected. Groups like MoveOn.org, in particular, are more interested in politics than in peace, she said.

“I basically think that it’s over,” Sheehan said. “And the reason that it’s over is that so many of those same groups that you’re talking about supported Obama. … I just don’t think that if you’re anti-war you can support somebody who is for war.”

At least Sheehan is honest.

(St. Louis, Mo.) August 25, 2010 Thousands of Tea Party Patriots from across the Midwest are expected to converge in St. Louis on September 12, 2010 to rally in support of restoring founding U.S. principles, in protest at the size and scope of government, and in support of current efforts to repeal legislation that they believe has been forced upon them and will not deliver on its promises.

The rally will be held under the Gateway Arch with speakers and music on the Riverfront Stage. Music will begin at noon; speakers to begin at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. KFTK 97.1 FM Talk serves as the official radio sponsor.

One of those groups, the St. Louis Tea Party, is a co-sponsor of the event. “We’re thrilled to welcome tea partiers from across the nation to St. Louis, the very heartland of America. St. Louis supports the Tea Party Patriots and looks forward to welcoming grassroots groups from all over to the event,” says Dana Loesch, a co-founder of the St. Louis Tea Party along with Bill Hennessy.

The “9/12” rally, as its come to be known, first took place on 9/12/2009. More than 850,000 people converged on Washington, D.C. to protest out of control government spending, the erosion of personal liberties, and the bailouts of troubled industries. This year, the “9/12” rally will be held in St. Louis and Sacramento, CA in addition to Washington, D.C.

St. Louis participants will hear music from country music legend Sammy Kershaw; former American Idol contestant Krista Branch; Neil E. White House Now Encouraging Doctors to Prescribe Drugs for Fat Kids

Let’s face it.
They’re socialists.
Via Breitbart TV and The Blaze:

First Lady Michelle Obama reveals some requirement of the new Health Care law that seemed to have been hidden in its 2,000+ pages. Nancy Pelosi famously said “We have to pass the bill to see what is in the bill.” Well, now we are finding out little gems like this.

Paki Minister Wants Obama to Offer Eid Prayers at Ground Zero & Declare Himself Caliph of All Muslims

This probably won’t help dispel any of those “Obama is Muslim” rumors…

A Pakistani minister wants Obama to offer Eid Prayers at Ground Zero and declare himself the new Caliph of the Muslim World.
News.IN reported, via ROP:

A Pakistani minister wants US President Barack Obama to offer Eid prayers at Ground Zero in New York and become the “Amir-ul-Momineen” or Caliph of Muslims.

Minister of State for Industries Ayatullah Durrani, who belongs to the ruling Pakistan People”s Party, said the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival, expected to be observed on September 11, would be a “golden opportunity” for Obama to offer Eid prayers and declare himself the leader of all Muslims.

“In this way, all the problems of the Muslim world would be solved,”
Durrani told The Nation newspaper.

Durrani, a former member of the Pakistan Ideological Council, contended that the Muslim world is in “dire need” of a Caliph and occupying this distinguished slot would provide Obama “exemplary titles” like “Mullah Barack Hussain Obama” or “Allama Obama”.

He said: “The time is approaching fast. Barack Hussain Obama must act now. This is a golden opportunity, Muslims badly need it.”

Obama”s elevation to the Islamic Caliphate would be the “key to success, he claimed but did not offer any explanation for his remarks.

That’s ridiculous.
We all know Obama is a Christian who attended a respectable church for years.

More Bad News For the Defeatocrats… Vast Majority of Americans Believe Iraq War a Success

More bad news for the big government “war is lostcut-and-runners

Far left Senator Barack Obama once said that genocide would not be a reason to keep US troops in Iraq. Unfortunately for this Iraq War-basher, most Americans disagree.

A vast majority of Americans now understand that the Iraqi people are better off today than they were under mass murderer Saddam Hussein…
And, they give George W. Bush the credit.

Here is more on the latest FOX News poll:

Despite its contentious history, most American voters appear to have made a positive judgment about the country’s efforts in Iraq. Almost six in 10 (58 percent) voters think, overall, the United States “did the right thing” by going to war, according to the latest Fox News poll.

A little over one-third of voters (35 percent) take the opposite view — that the U.S. “did the wrong thing” by becoming involved militarily in Iraq. From a partisan perspective, there is still division — as 54 percent of Democrats think the U.S. did the wrong thing in Iraq, while only 14 percent of Republicans feel the same way. A slim majority of independents (52 percent) think the U.S. did the right thing in Iraq…

An even larger share of voters (71 percent) expresses some level of agreement with the view that the Iraqi people are better off today because of the U.S.-led action
, while 19 percent disagree.

There is somewhat less partisan difference on this issue, as 58 percent of Democrats agree Iraqis are better off after U.S. involvement. Both Republicans (91 percent) and independents (65 percent), express higher levels of agreement.

DNC Chairman: People Ought to Be Proud to Be Democrat Right Now

Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression. The Obama-Pelosi economic plan resulted in a cumulative 7.5 million jobs deficit. By every objective measure the democrat’s Trillion dollar stimulus bomb was a complete disaster.

Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi tripled the national deficit last year by nearly a trillion dollars – something unheard of in our nation’s history.

Instead of focusing on the economy the past two years the radicals in Washington beat up on business and rammed through an unpopular nationalized health care entitlement program.

But facts don’t matter…
Today Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine said it would be foolish for democrats to run away from the Obama-Pelosi record.
The Politico reported:

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine has a message for Democrats trying to run from President Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid: Don’t be foolish.

“If you run away from who you are and you’re a Democrat, it’s foolish,” Kaine said on “Fox News Sunday.” “It’s foolish because you’ve got a lot to be proud of.”

Kaine cited the “heavy lift” congressional Democrats have taken on this term, passing health care and Wall Street reform, as well as a series of jobs packages.

Run libs, run.

The Dems Move To Ban “Young Guns” Book Promotion

Reps. Eric Cantor of Virginia, Kevin McCarthy of California and Paul Ryan of Wisconsin

More proof that the Democrats are totally out of ideas.  Well, good ideas, anyway.

With hypocrisy so thick you could cut it with a knife, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission against the promotion of the “Young Guns: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders” book by Reps. Eric Cantor of Virginia, Kevin McCarthy of California and Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.  In addition to the book they have a promotion tour and released a video.

The DCCC’s argument is that promoting the book violates election law.  That’s right , folks.  According to the Democrats a publisher cannot promote a book if it is political.  Pathetic!

Which prompted this statement:

“After a year of failing to get Americans back to work, with a president embarrassingly off message, and with candidates hemorrhaging in the polls, it’s no wonder the DCCC is hyperventilating,” said Brad Dayspring, Cantor’s spokesman.

As Soren Dayton at Redstate points out -

Restating, Democrats use the power of the federal government to attempt to prohibit the political speech and promotion of speech by their political enemies. That’s the kind of thing that lead to the American Revolution. Tea Parties make perfect sense in this context.

I couldn’t agree more.

State Senate Seat is Black “Heir” Property Says…Al Sharpton

Yes, yet another example of the Right Reverend Al Sharpton preaching love, brotherhood and charity.

Via The Blaze:

“It’s bad enough when ya’ll get a little apartment… get a house… can’t pay the rent…get evicted…but it’s worse when your relatives loses HEIR property. “

[...]

“This is an HEIR District!”

These are the words of Al Sharpton addressing a rally for (black) Johnny Ford in a primary run off against (white) pharmacist Billy Beasley in July 2010.

THE MAJORITY AFRICAN AMERICAN DISTRICT DISAGREED.  Bill Beasley won the run off!

Fortunately there are fewer and fewer people that are listening to Sharpton’s nonsense.

Here’s another example of Sharpton’s “shocking racism”.

He is a disgrace!

Ahmadinejad Urges More Armed Violence Against Israel in Holy Quds Day Speech

Regime supporters carried an Israeli coffin today at holy Quds Day protests. Children marched with their toy guns. (ISNA)

Iranian regime leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad urged armed violence against Israel and said the peace talks were stillborn in his holy Quds Day speech.
The Guardian reported, via ROP:

Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, today launched an angry attack on “doomed” US-brokered Middle East peace talks and urged the Palestinians to continue armed resistance to Israel.

Ahmadinejad used the annual al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day rally in Tehran to scorn the Obama administration’s efforts in launching the first Arab-Israeli negotiations in nearly two years.

“What do they want to negotiate about? Who are they representing? What are they going to talk about?” the hardline Iranian leader said of the Palestinian negotiating team in Washington.

“Who gave them the right to sell a piece of Palestinian land? The people of Palestine and the people of the region will not allow them to sell even an inch of Palestinian soil to the enemy. The negotiations are stillborn and doomed.”

Iran supports Hamas, the Islamist Palestinian movement that controls the Gaza Strip and opposes talks by Mahmoud Abbas, the western-backed PLO leader who is based in the West Bank. Its armed wing claimed responsibility for killing four Israeli settlers near Hebron on Tuesday. Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other groups have vowed to carry out more attacks.

Notre Dame Fires Staffer For Attending Pro-Life Rally

Notre Dame Associate Vice-President of Residence Life Bill Kirk was fired by the university for attending a pro-life rally. This is the same “Catholic” University that gave pro-infanticide President Obama an honorary degree.
LifeNews.com reported:

Because he participated in the protest students, staff and pro-life supporters backed when Notre Dame University decided to allow pro-abortion President Barack Obama to give its commencement speech, Associate Vice-President for Residence Life Bill Kirk apparently lost his job.

Father Tom Doyle, Notre Dame’s new Vice-President for Student Affairs reportedly fired Kirk, who had spent nearly 22 years with the college.

Dr. David Solomon, a Notre Dame professor, penned a column in the conservative Irish Rover newspaper laying out what happened, and it is already causing a buzz on the Internet and in Catholic circles.

“The decision was both unfair and imprudent. It was unfair, because, as a loyal employee of Notre Dame for almost 22 years—and one who had been placed repeatedly in positions where he took the brunt of public criticism for enforcing policies adopted by his superiors—he deserved better from those superiors than to be removed from office with no notice and with no public explanation for his removal,” Solomon wrote.

Solomon noted how Bill and his wife Elizabeth were active in pro-life activities on campus and with the response to the Obama speech.

Called on the Carpet: Obama’s New WH Rug Muffs History

-By Warner Todd Huston

He grew up in Indonesia, his father was a Kenyan, and he’s been fighting the perception that he isn’t much of an American since he became a nationally known entity. Unfortunately for President Obama, his redecoration of the Oval Office is not helping by making him seem just as ignorant about America as his critics claim. This latest gaffe is in the expensive rug he commissioned that has woven onto it a quote mis-attributed to Martin Luther King, Jr.

Obama’s rug has attributed to King an oft-repeated line, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Sure King said it. But even King reminded people that he wasn’t its creator.

Jamie Stiehm has the facts regarding this quote. It was originated by the 19th century champion of social progress, Theodore Parker.

Parker was a staunch anti-slavery man who died just on the eve of the American civil war, a man involved in every reform effort of his day, quite a radical for his time. He even supported domestic terrorist John Brown and supplied money for guns to be used in the “Bloody Kansas” fights over slavery.

King admired this white man who fought to end slavery and used his phrase many times — with full attribution, of course.

Sadly, Obama and his rug makers did not do their due diligence and research these quotes properly because they’ve attributed Parker’s inspiring words to King.

This is just one more incident that lends credence to the feeling that Barack Obama has no real feel for America, no connection to her history, and no grasp of what it is to be American.

Like his mis-attributed quote, Barack Obama is only an inch deep American. Sure he and his slipshod researchers knew that there was some famous quote or another, but they just weren’t informed enough about America to get the source of that quote right.

Worse, it is a misappropriation of words connected to Martin Luther King, Jr., the one historical figure that this president aboce all should have taken care to get right.

Is this misquote the end of the world? No, of course not. But it is just another small piece of evidence that points to the fact that this president is essentially disconnected from the country he is supposed to be leading. Barack Obama really isn’t much of an American.

New Low For Boy Wonder… Obama Approval Sinks to 42%

That seems a little high, huh?
Obama’s approval rating reached a new low today.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 24% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-five percent (45%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21 (see trends).

Maybe if he quit lashing out at greedy businesses and the stock market that would help.
Despite what his gut might be telling him, Americans don’t want a Hugo Chavez as president.

Radical Leftists Chuck Eggs & Shoes at Tony Blair in Dublin (Video)

Radical leftists hurled eggs and shoes at former Prime Minister Tony Blair at a book signing today in Dublin. The violent radicals are upset about Blair’s support for the Iraq War- a victorious war that liberated 25,000,000 Muslims from a brutal dictator and created a democracy in the Middle East.

Tony Blair released his autobiography this week.

All of the profits on his book will go to an organization supporting injured British soldiers.

In an interview this week Tony Blair told the BBC that radical Islam is the world’s greatest threat today.

TEA PARTY CANDIDATE CHRISTINE O’DONNELL Trails By Only 2 Points to RINO Mike Castle in Delaware

Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell is trailing by only 2 points to RINO Mike Castle in Delaware. RINO Rep. Mike Castle has a record of supporting the bank bailouts, cap and trade and abortion rights.

For those of you not familiar with this Delaware conservative, here again is my interview with Christine in July.
Check it out – She’s a remarkable candidate:

It was a delight meeting Christine O’Donnell.

And she is only down 2 points in Delaware.
Hotline On Call reported:

Christine O’Donnell is trailing Rep. Mike Castle by only 2% among voters most likely to turnout in the Delaware Senate GOP primary, according to a Tea Party Express poll.

The poll, obtained by Hotline On Call, found that among GOP voters who indicated they are most likely to vote — or “10s” in polling lingo — Castle leads O’Donnell 43% to 41%.

The Tea Party Express released the top line of the poll on Thursday. That showed O’Donnell trailing Castle by nearly 6%, 43.7% to 38%.

These new numbers suggest that Castle is significantly more vulnerable than originally believed.

Unfortunately for Christine O’Donnell, the ruthless attacks against her have escalated this past week.

Free Republic has an excellent must read post on “The Kneecapping of Christine O’Donnell.”
Check the article out for the facts on O’Donnell and Castle.

And, if that is not enough, here is some more information on Christine O’Donnell:

Castle is being challenged in the state’s September 14 GOP primary by conservative activist Christine O’Donnell. Coons runs virtually even with O’Donnell who picks up 41% of the vote to the Democrat’s 39%.

DeMint endorsement coming?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2556853/posts
“…As O’Donnell criticizes Castle for supporting the bank bailouts, cap and trade and abortion rights, she appears to have caught DeMint’s attention. The two met recently and a spokesman for the senator’s political action committee said DeMint was “extremely impressed.”

“She’s a principled conservative who has been overlooked by the Washington establishment. The senator has not made an endorsement in this race but he’s watching it closely to see if O’Donnell can get within striking distance,” Matt Hoskins said.

Granted, there are other conservative bloggers who are supporting the RINO, but call me old fashioned, I’ll pick the conservative over the liberal Republican any day of the week. We don’t need another Arlen Specter.

Jesse Jackson’s Gas Guzzling Escalade Stolen After Green Jobs Rally

He wanted the people of Detroit to take his advice.
They took his Escalade instead.

Unfortunately the gas guzzler he was driving was stolen and stripped.
Jalopnik.com reported:

The Rev. Jesse Jackson came to Detroit last weekend pushing green jobs for the U.S. economy. On Monday, the Cadillac Escalade carrying him around the city was stolen and stripped. Does building replacement $1000 rims count as “green jobs?”

Jackson came to Detroit as part of UAW President Bob King’s “Jobs, Justice and Peace” march on Sunday, which drew about 5,000 people to a combination protest and Democratic Party spirit parade. A few days before the rally, Jackson wrote a piece for CNN.com laying out its goals:

A key component of stable job growth is our nation’s energy policy. If our country gets serious about energy savings and independence from oil, we could rebuild domestically and power the U.S. economy with American jobs…Ending the subsidies that make dirty fuels artificially cheap can spark a shift in infrastructure development, create more jobs and allow America to become more self-sufficient.

A day after the rally, the 2009 Cadillac Escalade SUV that Jackson used to get around Detroit went missing from a parking lot near his hotel. According to WXYZ-TV, the SUV was later found abandoned, with the window busted and its wheels gone, similar to the jacking of a SUV used by Detroit Mayor Dave Bing’s security.

Obama-Pelosi Economic Plan Resulted in Record 7.5 Million Jobs Deficit

Worst. President. Ever.
We can now safely say that Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression. We can also safely say that the Obama-Pelosi Keynsian Economic Plan is one of the worst economic disasters in US history.

BB sent the latest jobs chart showing the actual jobs lost in the US compared to the predicted losses by Team Obama after the Trillion dollar stimulus was passed.

By every objective measure the democrat’s Trillion dollar stimulus bomb was a complete disaster. This radical far left plan resulted in a cumulative 7.5 million jobs deficit.
The Foundry reported:

By every objective measure, President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package has been a complete failure. When President Obama was selling his stimulus plan to the American people, he promised it would save or create 3.5 million jobs by the end of 2010. At the time, employment stood at about 134.3 million, according to the Labor Department’s most commonly used measure. That established an Obama jobs target for December 2010 at 137.8 million. According to the latest jobs report, total U.S. employment stood at 130.3 million in August, which means the cumulative Obama jobs deficit stands at 7.5 million.

Iranian Protesters Carry US Coffin & Torch US Flags at Quds Day Protests

The protesters voiced the Iranian nation’s readiness to remove the cancerous Zionist tumor from the face of the world.
Fars News reported:

International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.

International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel’s occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas. Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, and especially in Iran.

Protesters unanimously condemned Zionists’ crimes in the Palestinian occupied lands.

The fasting people carrying placards chanted ‘Down with the US’ and ‘Down with the Israel’ and other anti-Zionist slogans.

They voiced the Iranian nation’s readiness to defend the ideals of Palestine and remove the cancerous tumor from the face of the world.
