Gateway Pundit Blog Is Moving

After several years of blogging I am finally leaving my blogspot location.
Google has made several significant updates over the years. It is a great user friendly software. For those of you who want to start a blog I would definitely recommend the blogspot experience.
I am moving this blog over to First Things website today. Some of you may recognize the website. The Anchoress has been blogging at First Things for over a year now.
So there may be some changes going on during the day. I am not sure how much downtime there will be during the transition. Fortunately, I will be flying back to St. Louis so hopefully the transition will have taken place before I get back home.
Comments will move from Haloscan to WordPress but they will still be open at the new location so you will not need to register for now. Anyone will be able to comment as long as they provide a name and email address.
***How long will the change take? ***
On Sunday, we'll backup the blogspot site one more time and upload the latest entries to the new location at First Things. Once that is complete the change should be automatic. You shouldn't notice any differences at all—- other than the new look and location of the blog.
The blogger archives may take some time to transfer over. I have 15,000 previous posts that need to be moved. See you at the new site and thank you for your support and patience.

John Ziegler KICKED OUT of Western CPAC– Cops Called (Photo–Video Interview)
Author, broadcaster and filmmaker (Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted) John Ziegler was kicked out of the Western Conservative Political Action Conference this afternoon after his interview with David Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union. John had scheduled an interview with David Keene and all was going well until John asked David about this report from July.According to HotAir the American Conservative Union attempted to get Federal Express to pay millions of dollars to engage the ACU on their behalf over a political fight with UPS on legislation under consideration on Capitol Hill. The Politico also reported on this controversy... David got upset with John's question and threatened to clobber him. The whole thing was captured on tape.
In this video John tells me about the interview and confrontation:
After the interview and some drama in the hallway, Western CPAC officials told John Ziegler he was kicked out.
After lunch the local police were called and escorted John Ziegler out of the parking lot. But first there was a major confrontation in the banquet tent at the Radisson Hotel.
Rachel Alexander posted photos on her Facebook page. Here's one--

UPDATE: I spoke with John Ziegler tonight and he told me that video from the interview and the episode in the tent will be posted on YouTube tonight or tomorrow.

Western CPAC Sat. AM– Rep Rohrabacher Discusses Obama’s Marxist Background (Video)

Here is a look at Western CPAC's blog row.

Mao-Praising White House Official Dunn to Glenn Beck: “I Praised Mother Teresa, Too”
Earlier this week Glenn Beck reported on the Mao Tse-Tung-praising White House Communications Director Anita Dunn.Dunn praised the mass murdering Mao as her favorite philosopher:
Today Dunn responded to Beck in an email to The New York Times:
In an e-mail message, Ms. Dunn said, “My source for the Mao quote was actually the late Lee Atwater, either in an article or bio I read after the 1988 election. Now that I’ve revealed this I hope I don’t get Keith Olbermann angry with me. Let it be noted that I also quoted Mother Teresa, but no one is accusing me of being a saint!”Of course, Dunn's delayed response is ridiculous.
The speech she gave was a high school commencement address. Ms. Dunn says that the line about Mao and Mother Teresa was intended to be ironic – neither was a political philosopher – and that she used it simply to illustrate a larger point about the importance of challenging the conventional wisdom.
It’s no surprise that Mr. Beck singled out Ms. Dunn. She has been on the forefront of White House pushback against Fox News.
Her speech to high school students and their response showed she was serious about her praise for the Former mass-murdering Chinese communist dictator. Dunn went into some detail about why she so admired Mao but said next to nothing about Mother Teresa.
The Berman Post has more on Dunn's ridiculous response.

Disaster of the Day– Charting the Obama Destruction

The Washington Post reported: The federal budget deficit soared to a record $1.4 trillion in the fiscal year that ended in September, a chasm of red ink unequaled in the postwar era that threatens to complicate the most ambitious goals of the Obama administration, including plans for fresh spending to create jobs and spur economic recovery.
Doug Ross has more on the disaster.
UPDATE: 2006 Flashback: The 2001 George W. Bush taxcuts increased real annual GDP growth rate from 0.3 percent in 2001 to 2.5 percent in 2002. In the third quarter of 2003, GDP grew at a 7.2 percent annual rate. 1.4 million jobs were created in the nine months after August 2003.

"Americans voted for hope and change but they didn't vote for this... To stop government health care we're going to have to do the same thing we did with the town halls in August and the tea parties in April. Kenyan Historian: It’s Odd that Kenyan Luo Tribe Member (Obama) Elected President in US Before Kenya (Audio)
We already knew that Barack Obama's brother Malik was a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argued that the black man must "liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture."
Malik Obama, older brother to Barack Obama, holds an undated picture of Barak, left, and himself, middle, and an unidentified friend in his shop in eastern Kenya. (Karel Prinsloo, AP)
Now there's this:
Audio found (Here) of speaker in Kenya on the election of Kenyan (Obama) being elected in the US as President. Starting around the 2:00 minute marker, the speaker discusses ethnicity problems towards the Luo tribe in Kenya. Then quotes Senator Obama as saying that "The prospect that the US would elect a Luo president before Kenya does."
The file is from:
Olara Otunnu (Harvard Law, 1978) relating the remark of Kenyan historian Ali Mazrui on the oddity that a member of Kenya's Luo tribe (Barack Obama, a Kenyan citizen and Luo tribe member from birth) may become president of the United States before a Luo tribe member becomes president of Kenya. Source of Limbaugh Smears is Far Left Firm
American Thinker has an article today discussing the source of the Limbaugh smears. This was originally posted Mark Steyn from a reader:
"The quotes were added by a user with the IP address of 69.64.213.146. This address has been used mostly to make changes to the article about Rush, but also Karl Rove, Sean Hannity,.. James Dobson and Sara Palin from 2005 until earlier this year. The law firm has a history of supporting several far left causes and donated big to the Obama campaign.
"While others have noted this in various forums, no one seems to have made the connection that this IP address is used as a gateway by the law firm Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP (see here, for example) that all users from that IP address come from the pbwt.com domain.)"
Plus-- Rush responded to the state-run media's smear machine today in the Wall Street Journal, via Instapundit:
Numerous sportswriters, CNN, MSNBC, among others, falsely attributed to me statements I had never made. Their sources, as best I can tell, were Wikipedia and each other. But the Wikipedia post was based on a fabrication printed in a book that also lacked any citation to an actual source.
I never said I supported slavery and I never praised James Earl Ray. How sick would that be? Just as sick as those who would use such outrageous slanders against me or anyone else who never even thought such things. Mr. Wilbon refuses to take responsibility for his poison pen, writing instead that he will take my word that I did not make these statements; others, like Rick Sanchez of CNN, essentially used the same sleight-of-hand.

Governor Pawlenty & Ralph Reed Kick Off Western CPAC
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Ralph Reed Jr. and David Keene the chairman of the National CPAC and American Conservative Union as well as second vice president for the National Rifle Association will speak at this year’s conference.
Western CPAC kicked off tonight with a pool party and private meeting with Governor Pawlenty and California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman.
Meg Whitman joined me and John Schulenburg the founder of "Infidels are Cool" blog for a photo.
Governor Pawlenty was the keynote speaker tonight. Pawlenty was elected in blue state Minnesota despite his conservative record. Liberals try to convince people that their gifts are free. They're not free. It's very expensive. They have started to unravel the underpinnings that made this country great.
In Minnesota the average state increase was 19% each year for decades. The past two years Pawlenty was able to reduce the budget in Minnesota for the first time in history.
As for Obama, Pawlenty urged the president, "As far as 'Cash for Clunkers' ...If we don't have the money then quit spending it... Allowing democrats to control your money is like having Michael Vick watch your dog for the weekend."
The government can't run the programs that they control right now so why would we want to give them another one?
Minnesota has the highest penetration of health savings accounts in the nation, around 9%. In Minnesota bus drivers could get lifetime medical benefits if they worked 15 years. Tim put the spotlight on this issue and turned it around. Today the new bus drivers in the state won't get this same perk after only fifteen years on the job. The bus driver's union folded because they couldn't stand the public scrutiny that was going on.
Ralph Reed, the gentleman from Georgia, spoke next.
As we go into next year and one of the biggest wins that we will see as a movement we have to understand how we got here. Don't be fooled about the blue dogs. The democratic leadership will be breaking arms to get their bills passed. We lost a presidential election in 2008 that was an embarrassment. We were out hustled on the ground. Barack Obama had 6 million volunteers. He had three times as many field offices as McCain. In Virginia he carried the state with 93 full time employees from the day he was nominated. The Republicans had only 23.
Barack Obama has woken conservatives up from their coma. We are already ahead of where we were one month before the 1994 election. This administration in a short period of time is taking us toward slavery faster than any other liberal administration in history. Hugo Chavez even said, "Comrade Obama. If Fidel and I are not careful we're going to end up on your right."
Today the federal government is guaranteeing 90% of all housing loans in the US. The president gave 20% Of GM to his union supporters. Now they want to take over the energy and health care segments of our country.
Health care defeat is not an option. If we let this thing pass we may never be able to repeal it. Nancy Pelosi needs the public plan. The Baucus Plan won't pass. Even though they called us Nazis for showing up and protesting we will not be silent. We are not going away until this plan is stopped. We have to get involved now.
Three Keys to Winning Back the Majority.
1- Return to the principles of Faith and Freedom. We need people who can articulate this.
2- We need candidates who can stand on those principles and run on those principles. We need women and Hispanics to know that they are welcome and valued in this movement and we need to run hundreds of these candidates.
3- We need to build a massive grassroots movement second to none. Reed has started the Faith and Freedom Network. We're on offense and not just defense. The days we came to California and wrote it off are over. Run on who you are and what you believe.
As Ronald Reagan once said, "Our people look for a cause to believe in. It is time the GOP was painted not in "pale pastels" but in "bold colors."

Noam Chomsky Praises Marxist Hugo Chavez But Compares Rightwing Media to Nazis
Venezuelan Marxist Hugo Chavez praised Noam Chomsky at the United Nations in 2006 and said Bush was like the devil.
In return, Chomsky praised Chavez this year during a visit to Venezuela.
But, Noam Chomsky thinks the rightwing in America are like Nazis.
Mediaite reported:
Add Noam Chomsky to the growing list of people using the Nazi analogy lately. Speaking to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, he alluded to right-wing media as “substantive content — crazy content, but it does give answers,” and warned that if Americans weren’t properly educated about what was really happening to them, they could be in for a repeat of the Nazi takeover of Germany in the 1930s.
Chomsky, an influential linguist and liberal activist, did give himself some wiggle room — he prefaced his comments by saying “I don’t want to press the analogy too hard,” and later repeated that the analogy wasn’t a perfect one. But it was provocative stuff, and veered into Godwin’s Law territory. Chomsky singled out Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage as dealers of dangerous rhetoric, but he didn’t call out any cablers by name, although they seemed to be swept up in his critique of right-wing media:The memory that comes to my mind — I don’t want to press the analogy too hard, but I think it’s worth thinking about — is late Weimar Germany. There were people with real grievances, and the Nazis gave them an answer. ‘It’s the fault of the Jews and the Bolsheviks and we’ve got to protect ourselves from them, and that will take care of them.’ And you know what happened…
[...]Germany in the 1920s was at the peak of Western civilization. A decade later, it was at the pits of human history.

Gig’em Aggies!… HUNDREDS Protest Barack Obama at Texas A&M (Video)
Gig'em Aggies!Hundreds of people protested Barack Obama at Texas A&M University today.
My FOX FW reported:
Several hundred protesters have gathered at Texas A&M University to protest President Barack Obama's visit to the campus. The Bushes asked conservatives not to protest President Obama on the same day that Obama blamed Bush again for the dismal economy.
The protesters gathered Friday hours before Obama was to speak on the College Station campus at the invitation of former President George H.W. Bush. The protesters were allowed to gather at a park near the auditorium where Obama would speak but he would not be able to see them as a parking garage blocked the view from the park.
The president is set to speak at a Friday forum on community service.
Bush had said the event was not political. Nevertheless, the protesters gave speeches criticizing Obama's efforts to reform health care. Many of the protesters were from anti-tax Tea Party groups that bused in members from around the state.
Some things never change.

Obama Promised 2.5 Million Stimulus Jobs… Created 30,083 & Lost Millions Instead …Update: Record Deficit Numbers Released
Last November Barack Obama promised to "create or save" 2,500,000 jobs with the record stimulus package he was planning to pass as president. He's got a long ways to go.
He promised 2,500,000 million jobs...
But so far the democrats record "stimulus" package has only stimulated the economy enough to create only 30,000.
...Excuse me, 30,083 jobs.
The Hill reported:
The first direct stimulus reports showed that stimulus contracts saved or created just 30,083 jobs, prompting more Republican criticism of the $787 billion package. That's crap.
The data posted Thursday was the result of the government's initial attempt at counting actual stimulus jobs. Obama administration officials stressed that data was partial -- it represented just $16 billion out of the $339 billion awarded -- but they said it exceeded their projections.
"All signs -- from private estimates to this fragmentary data -- point to the conclusion that the Recovery Act did indeed create or save about 1 million jobs in its first seven months, a much needed lift in a very difficult period for our economy," said Jared Bernstein, the chief economist for Vice President Joe Biden.
According to the White House recovery office's rough calculations, the 30,083 jobs number projects out to a total of 1.2 million jobs saved or created by the stimulus through September.
The unemployment rate is nearly 10% now.
Millions of jobs have been lost since the Stimulus package was passed.
They "saved or created" nothing.
What a disaster.
UPDATE: To add to the disaster-- The Obama administration has released new deficit numbers, and they are not pretty.
The deficit for Fiscal Year 2009, which ended Sept. 30, came in at a record $1.42 trillion, more than triple the record set just last year.
UPDATE 2: Legal Insurrection offers the president advice on the economy.

Dem’s Health Care 3-Card Monte Will Cost Taxpayers $2 Trillion
Harry Reid let the cat out of the bag yesterday. The Dem's nationalized health care plan will cost taxpayers at least $2 trillion dollars.
Via Sweetness and Light
Covering millions more Americans and illegal immigrants with health insurance is not a money saver as democrats would suggest.
No matter how democrats shuffle the money around it's going to cost taxpayers billions. The bill will cost American families $1,700 more each year.
And, 87% of the revenue in the original Baucus proposal to finance Obamacare would come from individuals with incomes of less than $200,000.
Rich Lowry explains the democrat's magic math today at The New York Post:
If only the laws of the universe didn't make it impossible to conjure something out of nothing. In a magical world free of such encumbrances, Democrats would be spared the bother of hiding the inevitable costs of ObamaCare.More... The CBO announced today that the health care bill will now cost $905 billion. The democrats lowered the cost of their package by forcing states to cover more expenses than in their previous plans.
The latest gambit of Democrats in both the Senate and House is to take roughly $250 billion out of health-care reform -- for Medicare payments to doctors -- and spend it in a separate bill. This instantly makes ObamaCare appear cheaper, although its impact on the federal budget will be precisely the same.
This isn't even competent three-card monte. It's the logic of the spendthrift who's maxed out on his Visa and MasterCard, but thinks it's frugal to put a new $6,000 Samsung 65-inch LCD flat-screen TV on his American Express card instead.
Every year, Medicare payments to physicians are supposed to fall. Congress always temporarily defers the cut. The House version of ObamaCare deferred it for 10 years, a reason it had so much red ink. The Baucus bill deferred it for only the first year (at a cost of $10.7 billion), then pretended Congress would subsequently cut doctor payments a drastic 25 percent. Without this otherworldly assumption, the bill would increase the deficit by roughly $150 billion over 10 years.
That violates the Obama pledge not to increase the deficit for health care by one dime by 1.5 trillion dimes. So Dems plan to spend the dimes elsewhere. Problem solved. In this Orwellian spirit, The Associated Press reports that the separate measure will free up $10.7 billion in the Baucus bill, "money that could then be spent on other priorities."
Why stop there? If all the subsidies and other costs are removed and passed separately from the Baucus bill, it becomes a $900 billion deficit-reduction measure, and ObamaCare can be advertised as the world's most affordable entitlement.
The intractable truth is that getting millions of new people health insurance is not costless. New insurance regulations intended to benefit the sick and uninsured will increase premiums for everyone else.

Rep. Shadegg: ‘Soviet Gulag Health Care’ Coming to USA (Video)
Brace yourselves, comrades...Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ) warned his colleagues in the House today that--
"Soviet Gulag Health Care is coming to the United States."
Via FOX Nation
The democrats want to pass a nationalized health care plan before the year ends.
White House economic advisor Robert Reich admitted that senior health care will be rationed under the new system.
And, it looks like it will be here before we know it.
The democrats are making plans to use the nuclear option to take over one-sixth of the nation's economy.
FOX News reported:
A key House committee on Thursday quietly altered its health care legislation in a way that could allow the Senate to mow over Republican opposition to Democratic reforms by exploiting a budgetary loophole.Of course, the fact that democrats would use underhanded tactics to swallow up one-sixth of the US economy surprises no one.
The Ways and Means Committee adjusted its health care overhaul package so that the Senate, down the road, could avoid a filibuster and pass health care reform with a smaller number of votes than normally required.
The long-discussed process, nicknamed the "nuclear option," is known as reconciliation. It's coming into potential play after the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday became the last of five committees to approve health care reform legislation, sending the overhaul proposals a big step closer to the president's desk. Before it gets there, though, the bill has to pass from the committees to the floors of the House and Senate.
Under the normal process, senators can filibuster almost anything and the debate would only be cut off if at least 60 lawmakers vote to do so. For that reason, 60 is considered the magic number in the quest to pass health care reform out of the Senate.
But under reconciliation, typically used in the budget process, no filibusters are permitted and a bill can pass with just a simple majority.
